Camden United Christian Academy

History of Camden United Christian Academy
We first began this endeavor in August 1994. Cindy Jones came to Bro. & Sis. Johnson with this burden, not knowing the Johnson s had been praying about starting a Christian School. Bro. Gary Jones was our first principal, with his wife Cindy, being the major push for Christian Education at Camden 1st UPC. She was our supervisor for many years. Sis. Cindy still has a great burden for Christian Education.

We began the first year with 25 students and completed the year with 31 students. We had one graduate in our 1st graduating class of 1995, Jeremy Hargrove.

Our first staff consisted of Bro. & Sis. Gary Jones, Sis. Dellona Johnson, Sis. Bonnie Wimberley (who is still with us), Sis. Donna Carson, and Sis. Charlene Harris.

After Bro. & Sis. Jones moved away, Kyle Johnson, a graduate of C.U.C.A. became our principal. When he took another position in 2008, Sis. Johnson assumed the responsibility. In 2010, Bro. Micheal McDonald became principal.

Micah Harris was our first student to begin in Kindergarten and go through the 12th grade and graduate from C.U.C.A. He is now in college at University of Bethel and will be graduating soon.

We have many graduates that have graduated from various colleges with two and four year degrees. And we also have some that have gone on and obtained their Master s degree and working on Doctorate degrees.

We have students that have graduated college and are presently in the medical field, child care, Education, Optometry, Computer Technology, Business owners, Law enforcement, Military, etc. Several are in the ministry and we also have a Lawyer and a Mortician that graduated from our school.

We feel C.U.C.A. has been successful as a ministry and in education. Our students have succeeded as productive adults in the community and especially their churches.
Since our first graduating class of 1995, we have had 84 graduates. Many are now college graduates or still in college at this present time.

We use the School of Tomorrow PACE system for our core curriculum through Accelerated Christian Education Ministries and have since the beginning. We obtained the top ranked status with School of Tomorrow, which is Model Status and have held this top ranking for 17 years.
